The search is based on the World Anti-Doping Agency WADA's list of Prohibited Substances and Methods in Sports, according to which pharmacological substances are classified as prohibited, prohibited under certain conditions or permitted. In addition to the list provided by WADA, the use of certain other pharmacological substances has been prohibited by some international sports federations in their own rules. For example, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has prohibited the use of TRAMADOL in competitions starting from 1 March 2019. The UCI is responsible for the testing for TRAMADOL.

Prohibited Substances and Methods in Sports

The World Anti-Doping Agency WADA publishes a list of Prohibited Substances and Methods in Sports every year. Athletes themselves are always responsible for the substances they use, nor is lack of awareness a valid excuse for an antidoping rule violation.
