The international police organisation INTERPOL is tasked with implementing cooperation between the criminal police authorities of its 192 member states on as broad a scale as possible. INTERPOL's General Secretariat is located in France. Among other things, the General Secretariat coordinates crime prevention projects and organises training. The National Bureau of Investigation functions as INTERPOL's National Central Bureau in Finland.
One of the most topical crime prevention projects, "Crime in Sport", targets match-fixing and illegal gambling. The Finnish Center for Integrity in Sports (FINCIS) is a member of INTERPOL's Match-Fixing Task Force.
