Court of Arbitration for Sport
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is the highest international body of appeal in sport-related matters and it is independent of sporting organisations. It is the task of CAS to resolve disputes related to the regulation of sports by way of arbitration. It can also help the parties of the dispute to find a solution by acting as a court of arbitration.
CAS was established in 1984, and its head office is in Lausanne, Switzerland. CAS has almost 300 arbitrators familiar with the world of sports and related codes around the world. Each year, CAS resolves approximately 300 cases.
